A Beautiful Question: Finding Nature's Deep Design
Our Deep Play Group is discussing Frank Wilczek's book, A Beautiful Question: Finding Nature's Deep Design. A Nobel Prize winner in Physics, Wilczek enlightens the reader to find beauty in both the simple and complex things in our world and in the universe. Our discussion carries the observer through the different scientists and their stories that enlightened us. Our goal is to bring this enthusiasm to our students so that they can understand that science is a process, and therein lies beauty by making meaningful connections of the symmetry. If we keep asking questions and allow for change to happen, we can add to the beauty of our knowledge.
NOTE: I misspoke at the beginning of the discussion about Pythagoras and the Pythagorean Theorem being discovered after Pythagoras' time. Kevin's comments make this clear that the Pythagorean Theorem was popular (and still is today) during Pythagoras' time.
