PD and Newsletter: Aesthetic Learning
In collaboration with Halyna Sendoun and Kevin Connolly, I present to you a PD about Aesthetic Learning. Our focus is on the idea of a sticky story. We hope to engage fellow teachers in such a way to move them out of their comfort zones and put together a story about a scientist. But the story must be an uplifting and engaging story that captivates the student in order to draw them in. Teachers will be asked to do a little research and put together a video. There are so many stories about our scientists that tend to get lost in day-to-day teaching along the paper trail.
While most PDs are looked upon with mostly negative eyes, we hope that, if anything, our fellow teachers will look at this idea and be able to expand upon it into their classrooms.
